MARSHALL, Genevieve Prather

Mrs. Genevieve N. Marshall, 81, a life resident of the Coal Branch Community, died at 2:05 a.m. today (May 15, 1974) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. She had been a patient four weeks and had been ill five years.

  Born Oct. 14, 1892, in Rileysburg, she was the daughter of Isaac and Hannah Shute Prather. She was married May 14, 1916, to Edward Vernon Marshall, who died Nov. 21, 1959.

  Mrs. Marshall was a charter member and helped organize the Coal Branch Independent Church. She had been active in the Homemakers Club, Vermillion County Chorus and Women’s Study Club.

  Survivors include two sons, Austin and Marion, both of Perrysville route 1; two daughters, Mrs. Eileen Rouse and Mrs. Vivian Hughes, both of Danville; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

  She was preceded in death by a sister and six brothers.

  Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Coal Branch Independent Church. The Rev. Grover Williams officiated. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery.
